METHOD
- 01Preheat the oven broiler (or charcoal grill if you are outdoors).
- 02In a bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, torn basil leaves, virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and coarse salt.
- 03Place the bread slices on the oven rack and grill them for approximately 2 minutes per side, until they are lightly browned and crisp.
- 04Remove the bread slices and immediately rub one side vigorously with a peeled garlic clove.
- 05Arrange the grilled bread slices, garlic-side up, on a platter. Distribute the tomato mixture evenly over the bread slices and serve immediately.
